Major goals of our research are to understand the molecular network regulating lymphatic and blood vascular growth and function in health and diseases. Specifically, we have been working on the roles of endothelial receptor tyrosine kinases and their ligands in the regulation of vascular formation, remodeling and homeostasis in development using genetically modified mouse models. In combination of tumor models, we aim to elucidate the role of tumor associated vascular components in tumor progression (Figure: Biological function of VEGFR-3 in lymphatic and blood vascular development).
